Join Our Team as a Volunteer Docent at the André Cailloux Center!
The André Cailloux Center for Performing Arts & Cultural Justice is looking for three passionate and engaging volunteer docents to help us share the rich history, culture, and artistic vibrancy of our space with the community.
Why Volunteer?
As a docent, you’ll be a vital part of our mission—guiding visitors through exhibitions, performances, and historical narratives that celebrate Black arts, activism, and cultural justice. You’ll gain valuable experience in public speaking, community engagement, and historical interpretation while being immersed in New Orleans’ dynamic arts scene.
What You’ll Do:
Lead engaging tours of our center, exhibitions, and performance spaces.
Share historical and cultural insights about André Cailloux, Bayou Road, and the Black arts movement.
Assist with special events, educational programs, and visitor services.
Be a welcoming and informative presence for guests of all backgrounds.
What We’re Looking For:
Enthusiastic individuals who love history, storytelling, and the arts.
Great communicators who enjoy engaging with the public.
Dependable volunteers who can commit to at least two shifts per month.
No experience required—just a passion for culture and a willingness to learn!
